This past week has been monumental for our country. Our 59th Presidential Election began last Tuesday, and the winner was declared on Saturday: Former Vice-President to Obama and now President-Elect Joe Biden and his running mate Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. This election was not only colossal for our country as a whole, but also for me. This is the first election that I really understood what was going on and how each candidate running wanted to address it. Although I cannot vote yet, I really studied this election and discovered my own morals and beliefs for now and the future. I've lived through 4 elections now, but this one specifically stood out to me. So much was and still is at stake and the current condition of our country desperately needs help and a voice to lead us. Now that the election is over and Joe Biden has won, I hope he provides the leadership this country needs.
This term has not only felt off, but has just been very different than previous ballots. Due to these current times, everything has been delayed and nearly every single American has spent the last few days watching states slowly turn red and blue whether they liked it or not. I went into this election with absolutely no idea how it would turn out, and I think that was the case with many other people as well. Both parties this year had very sturdy voters, and was so dead even that I couldn't tell where to look. Alike every other election in history, there is always someone who comes out on top. In this case it was Biden.
The next 2 months are going to be different for many as we transfer the power from one president to another, but I pray that it remains calm and collected. Whether this election went in your favor or not, I think that it is important to remain supportive for our country as a whole. My hopes and prayers for these next 4 years is that we as a country unite together as one, because when it comes down to it, we are all Americans and we all want whats best for our country. So continue to protest, continue to vote, and continue to fight for whats right. Together, we can bring peace. Cooperatively as one... one country, one body, one heart. God bless America and all the opportunity it brings to its people.
