My Favorite Thanksgiving Traditions

Happy November! Personally my favorite month because of my two favorite holidays, my birthday and thanksgiving. But now since my birthday has passed, it's time for thanksgiving. Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays for so many reasons. So here they are.

Family

I love my family more than anything in the world, and I love it when we can all reunite anywhere and feel at home once again. I'm so blessed to be so close to both sides of my family, but because most of my mom's family lives in Europe, we spend thanksgiving with my dad's side. My dad's side is the absolute craziest people which always makes Thanksgiving the best, and our family friends (who are pretty much family) always join us too. Most of the time we spend Thanksgiving in Florida, but some years we switch between Louisana and Texas. But luckily this year, we are staying in Florida and that is always a wild time.

Food

Food is honestly the best part of Thanksgiving, especially because my family contains some of the best cooks. (Shoutout Brad Campesi). I always love walking in the house and seeing my mom, aunt, and grandma cooking up a storm, while the dads are outside baking the turkey. And of course, the best part is at the end, eating it. I love sitting around the table with all these people that I love and talking about our lives and all the things we are thankful for. It truly is the most blessed feeling.

Football

Thanksgiving football games are always the most fun. My family contains some of America's biggest college and NFL fans and the trash talk hits extreme limits on Thanksgiving. Some of my favorite memories growing up were going to Texas football games as a kid with my dad and cousins in the freezing cold and enjoy the sport we love so much. Sadly Auburn is not playing on Thanksgiving this, but the Iron Bowl and LSU vs. A&M is the 28th so it will defiantly be another crazy Saturday in the Tully household.

Gratitude

Though all those traditions and memories are the best, I think it's so important to remind each other what Thanksgiving is all about. Being thankful. After all, it does say thanks in the name. So be grateful. Share what you are grateful for. Thank all the people that make those things to be thankful happen. Happy early Thanksgiving. I am so grateful for all of you.
