Hi Blog. Happy Friday! Sorry about being late this week, my wifi decided it'd be a good idea to just break this week. This past Monday I was blessed with another year of life. Sixteen! It's crazy honestly. It feels like just yesterday, I was turning 8 and having birthday parties at the zoo. Overall, these past 15 years have taught me so much about life and the person I want to be. So to me, these are the most important lessons that I've learned about life.
1) You're Not Going To Win Every Game You Play
I grew up always playing sports. Whether it was soccer, cheer, field hockey, basketball, baseball, or lacrosse, I loved being involved in something competitive. But when you grow up playing competitive sports, you have to learn to accept loss. And I think this a lot about life. No athlete has won every single game they've played. No student has gotten a perfect on every test. And the most important thing about the playing games, is going in wanting to win but accepting that after the clock hits zero though it may not of been a win, you still played to your physical best.
2) There Is A Time and Place For Everything
3) Not Everyone Is Going To Like You
4) Procrastination Gets You Absolutely Nowhere
One of my best flaws is my ability to procrastinate for hours on end. And though I've tried to fix it, it's defiantly been one of my hardest habits to break. Everyday I try so hard to be better, and I realize that it always sets me back. So though this is something Im still working on, I know ill get there one day.
5) Good Things Don't Come Easily
6) Live In The Moment
In this world, its so easy to get caught up on everything going on around us. Espically now that technology is our whole lifestyle. Without it, life would be so much different. But sometimes I think we all overuse it to a point where we aren't even enjoying real life for a second. As I tell you every week, life is so precious and I'd hate to miss out on it.
7) You're Not Always Right
8) Education Never Stops
9) You Get More By Giving More
My favorite thing in the world is the feeling of giving. That feeling of creating joy with the littlest things, could fill my heart forever. Whether its donating to charity or Christmas eve, that joyous feeling will never get old.
10) Be Grateful
11) Be Humble
12) Be Respectful
13) Time Doesn't Stop
14) Take Care Of Your Mental Health
Mental health is the key to life. I strongly believe a happy mindset leads you to a happy life. Though I have bad days, just like everyone else, I know the future is there and that it will be good if I put my mind to it.
15) Don’t Hesitate To Act Upon Things You want To Do
16) There Is Always A Future Out There
No matter what is happening now, whether good or bad, there is a future waiting for you and for me. And I cant wait. There are still so many places to see, and so many things to do. So hold on. You are so close. I promise.
So cheers to sixteen years, and to many more. Thank y’all all for the amazing birthday wishes, I was so happy to spend it with family and friends and so many others I love. I love yall.
