Hi, blog! Happy Wednesday! This week I've been thinking about my future so much, and I wanted to write something to myself in 10 years. So here you go! Enjoy!
Dear Kate (of 2031),
Hi you. Hope all is well. I write to you from our 16-year-old self. I have so many questions, thoughts, and feelings about who you are and what you have become and I’m so excited to reach this point in our life one day. What’s life like? How was college and hopefully now law school? What has happened in the world between now and then? How is everyone? And what have you become?
Now, Kate, I’ve been dreaming of 26 years old you for quite some time now, and I hope you are as happy as I think you will be. Life now has had so many ups and downs and sometimes it feels like I’m never going to get there. But I hope when you read this you feel some sort of relief. You made it. Whether life then is a shattered glass vase on the floor or sunshine and rainbows, I hope you are accomplishing everything you dream of. I can't wait to meet you, Kate. I can't wait to be you, Kate.
I hope you’ve made mistakes. I hope you’ve overcome challenges. I hope you’ve persevered through life like you were taught to do. I hope the success I crave is being achieved now as we’ve always planned. I hope you've kept your whit and your ability to go with the flow life takes you. I hope you've kept your spirit and ambition towards life. And most of all, I hope you’re happy and healthy and unapologetically yourself. Because no matter what happens to us, there is always us there in the end. I love you, Kate. No matter what.
Love,
You.
